AutoCAD Civil 3D Drafter / Designer

We are seeking a Civil Engineering Technologist with a strong understanding of various municipal engineering disciplines to join our growing, team-oriented, and flexible workplace. In this role, you will assist with drafting and design tasks, helping advance projects through the concept, design, and construction phases. Your experience in municipal engineering will be crucial in providing services to existing clients and identifying new business opportunities. We advocate for collaboration and problem-solving, working together to deliver high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process survey data to develop detailed site drawings, including existing site plans, land boundaries, topographic contour maps, utility plans, and more.
  • Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare design drawings, including surfaces, alignments, plan and profile views, and detailed views as directed by the engineering team.
  • Ensure attention to detail and precision in all aspects of drafting and design work.
  • Apply knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and construction specifications to produce accurate and high-quality designs.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining efficiency and quality of work.
  • Adhere to drafting standards, ensuring drawings are clean, clear, concise, and aligned with office standards and client requirements.
  • Collaborate well in a team environment and assist with problem-solving during the design process.
  • Take pride in your work and be proactive in expanding your knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
  • 2+ years of experience in civil site drafting (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in all design work.
  • Understanding of civil engineering principles and construction specifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, ensuring efficiency and quality.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities when developing engineered drawings.
  • A commitment to high-quality work and continuous learning.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Ontario driver’s licence.
