Drainage Engineer
N.J. Peralta Engineering Ltd. is currently seeking an individual with an interest in water resources engineering to join our Drainage Engineering Division. This role involves working under the provisions of the Ontario Drainage Act and requires experience in hydrology and hydraulics. The ideal candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills, as they will be interacting directly with the public. Periodic tasks may also include involvement in site development, municipal infrastructure, and bridge projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design and project management for municipal drainage projects, including hydrological and hydraulic analysis.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance through all project phases: concept, design, and construction.
- Interact directly with municipal staff, clients, and the public to ensure smooth communication and successful project delivery.
- Assist in site development, municipal infrastructure, and bridge projects as needed.
Requirements:
- University degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent from a recognized program) and practical experience in the civil engineering field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, or at a minimum, enrollment in the Engineering Intern Program (E.I.T.) (preferred).
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering work experience in Ontario.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A solid understanding and commitment to CAD standards and procedures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and an analytical approach to engineering challenges.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Knowledge of municipal civil infrastructure construction methods.
- Hydrological modeling and other design-based software experience is an asset.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence.
