Heide Mikkelsen

Co-Owner, Professional Engineer, and Principal Municipal Engineer

Heide is a licensed Professional Engineer residing in Kingsville, Ontario. As a Civil/Municipal Engineer and designated Consulting Engineer, he specializes in Municipal Infrastructure, Stormwater Management, and Hydraulic Modelling. With over 27 years of experience at N.J. Peralta Engineering Ltd., Heide has held various roles, gaining extensive expertise in his field.

Born in London, Ontario, Heide began his career at Peralta Engineering in 1997 after graduating, acquiring hands-on experience in field surveying, field inspection, detailed design, hydraulic modelling, and other engineering calculations.

Throughout his career, Heide has designed numerous stormwater management facilities and supporting infrastructure for agricultural, residential, commercial, and industrial developments for private clients. He has also organized, designed, and managed the construction of several extensions and replacements of storm and sanitary sewers, watermains, sewer separation, road construction, and road reconstruction projects for municipal clients. Additionally, Heide has performed stormwater hydraulic modelling of various watercourses and authored Master Drainage Plans and Flood Hazard Plans. His comprehensive experience spans field surveying, drafting, detailed design, project management, and construction administration for both municipal and private infrastructure projects.

Heide is passionate about providing innovative solutions tailored to each client’s unique needs. He values the long-term relationships he has built within the civil engineering community and the local agricultural sector.

Proud to call Kingsville home, Heide has raised his family in the community. He actively volunteers, coaching his son’s hockey and baseball teams and serving as an executive board member of the Erie North Shore Minor Hockey Association.
